Healing

Taking responsibility for our healing is a huge undertaking. It requires us to be extremely proactive and aware of ourselves. If you aren’t in the process of healing then we become susceptible to falling deeper into our hurt. We experience so much trauma throughout life — some trauma affects us more implicitly than other experiences, nonetheless, the trauma is there. We have come from broken homes, relationships, disappointments, let downs, violence and now our biggest source of trauma is the fear that the media instills in us.

We deal with loss and missed opportunities but how do we heal from all of this. Do we ever go into ourselves to deal with this loss or do we wear it around like a damp shirt. We don’t have to walk around with these exposed wounds any longer. It is time that we walk in our truth and heal from the past, present and look forward to our future. Life is very similar to a rose garden, the beauty is evident but there are also many thorns along the way. We can be captivated in the beauty but along the journey we have to also accept the prick of growth.

It is hard to be optimistic at times but there is great hope when we speak affirmatively into our own lives. We have the power of healing the same way our bodies have the ability to heal a wound and leave a scar. Our scars just become part of our story, the footprints to our journey , the process to our healing.
